Nel post di oggi volevo parlarvi della tecnica del Mixed Media
Letteralmente Mixed Media indica una forma di arte nella quale vengono combinati diversi tipi di tecniche e materiali, come ad esempio una tela dipinta con varie tipologie di vernici, inchiostri o spray che la rendono materica e tridimensionale mediante l’utilizzo di differenti tecniche di collage.
Nel mixed media vengono spesso utilizzati anche oggetti e materiali non necessariamente creati per uso artistico ma che si trovano comunemente in casa.
Questo tipo di tecnica inizia a diffondersi all’inizio del ventesimo secolo quando gli artisti cercano nuovi modi per uscire dai confini dell’arte e della pittura strettamente accademica e iniziano a sperimentare l’utilizzo di nuove tecniche e materiali.
Il quadro di Picasso “Natura morta con sedia impagliata” del 1912 è considerato il primo collage, una tecnica pittorica dove vengono inseriti pezzi i carta, di giornale di manifesti e altri materiali come stoffe e cordoncini e vanno a sostituire la loro resa pittorica.
La tecnica del mixed media si fonde con il memory keeping tipico dello scrapbooking nella realizzazione di tele e layout (ma anche in semplici tag) dove la scrapper utilizza paste, gesso, inchiostri spray e stencil per dare tridimensionalità e texture al progetto oltre a decorare con embellishment e altri tipi di materiali di uso comune come retine, bottoni o accessori in metallo.
Si tratta di lavori molto dettagliati composti da diverse stratificazioni di materiali che donano al progetto finale l’aspetto di una vera e propria opera d’arte ricca di particolari che non finiscono mai di stupire.
La nostra Lisa è sicuramente una vera maestra di questa tecnica! La sua incredibile abilità nel saper aggiungere quel piccolo particolare che rende un progetto già perfetto una vera opera d’arte mi affascina ogni volta che osservo uno dei suoi lavori!
